New Bible Study Pre-Launch Giveaway!

It's almost here.

Following twelve months of prayer, research, interviews, writing, editing, theological review, an exciting Facebook cover design poll, and more prayer, my newest Bible study, The God of All Comfort, is set for release on August 15th through Concordia Publishing House.

It's time to CELEBRATE with you what God has done!

Even though it doesn't officially release for another 8 days (though you can pre-order it here and here), I couldn't resist sharing the joy.

Because when the joy of the Lord is our strength, unquenchable celebration gushes.

The chaotic pace of life can deplete us and take a toll on our lives in countless ways. This study is all about comfort and the God who cradles us with it when life blindsides us.

Let me tell you what's different and amazing about this study.

With Bible passages from 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 firmly at the center, we journey through real-life circumstances where God redeemed, restored, healed and breathed comfort into suffocating heartaches and life breaks.

My prayer is that somewhere you will find yourself in this study.

Through stories of abuse, loss, addiction, anger, cancer, spiritually unequal marriages, war, faith struggles, adoption, divorce, and so much more, we discover how God can bring soul-deep comfort, healing, and hope that only He can provide.

Won't you consider doing this study with a group this Fall?

I know this study will affirm over and over again what I already know: God is faithful. He doesn't forsake us. He holds us in the darkest night.

    So excited for you, friend!

  6. Donna,
What a sweet gift today to see this posted on facebook... I will share it there for my friends as well! Donna, having lost our 5 child Samuel as a full term stillbirth, I have lived the despair of daily only being able to cry out, "Lord Help ME... Help Me!"

I am so thankful the healing power of my Father 3 1/2 years later... but oh how that missing and sadness does remain etched on my heart each day... I still experience daily mix of joy and pain some days... So I know that I will great benefit from your study. Can't wait to hopefully use it with the ladies at the church where Greg pastors here in Oklahoma...

    Much love Donna!

    1. Sara, oh my word, your story brought tears to my eyes. But even more so that you celebrate God's healing power that keeps you walking toward Him. Yes, sadness clings when the hurt is deep, but continually offering that hurt and sadness to our God of all comfort restores us each and every time.

It's such a joy to see you here, my Friend! Let me know if you shared this on Facebook or Twitter and also sign up for this blog so your name goes in the hat for the drawing!

  8. Donna,

I'm excited about your new Bible study because there are so many hurting people in the world and all of us who have areas of our lives where we need to be reminded of God's love for us!
I hope to use this in our Circle this spring. The gals have enjoyed going through a couple of your studies from the Lutheran Witness.

May God continue to bless you as you work to bring His Word to so many!

I "shared" you on FB (again!) & I am now subscribed! No more just checking in! lol

    1. Angie, I couldn't agree with you more. Hurting people surround us every day, but some do so in silence. I pray God uses this study to remind them that He is in the suffering silence with them offering endless love and boundless comfort.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! What a blessing to know the feet God puts on these studies. I pray you are blessed as you dig in to His Word through this study. It's so nice to see you here! I look forward to us chatting here in the future. Your name is officially in the hat!

  9. So many of us have deep hurts that we can barely admit to ourselves, let alone others. May this study help us all to let the Comforter bring us healing!

    1. Melissa, what a great insight that sometimes "we can barely admit" hurt to ourselves. Oftentimes we have to dig past the anger/withdrawal that sets in to even discover the hurt that causes such a reaction. And I'm joining you in your ending prayer! Thanks so much for stopping in! Be sure to share this post on FB or Twitter and sign up to receive this blog so that you have a chance at the comfort prize. Blessings!

    1. Terry, even as I type this and recall the section about cancer in this study, I've got goosebumps. It's such a powerful testimony of the peace and comfort God provides regardless of our circumstances.

Thank you so much for sharing the study idea with your small group. And, yes, I've got you in the drawing!! YAY! Hugs!

  11. Hi Donna, My name is Judy Wiggins (Lolly) and I have only read quotes and quips about you and your Bible Studies through Jessie Patch. I am looking forward to your new Bible Study based on my life verse! 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 gives such meaning to my life as I minister the Truth to women like me who have been hurt by the "choice" of abortion. Hope is incredibly powerful and despair incredibly crippling. I am personally looking forward to learning more about HOPE in your Bible Study and to sharing HOPE with the women God places in my circle of influence. God bless you and the work of your hands!

Studying His Word is one of my favorite things, so I love tools that can help me do that.
